11 consecutive win on the bounce for Antonio Conte’s men, and it has extended Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table to 9 points, pending this weekend’s fixtures.
It was yet another hard-fought 1-0 victory, but the 3 points is all that matters.
See how the players fared today:
Courtois: Didn’t have much to do today, but pulled an excellent save on a Cabaye shot just 2 minutes after the restart. 7/10
Azpilicueta: The Spaniard had a good game today; he worked really hard in defence, and gave an excellent ball for Diego Costa to head in, just 2 minutes before the half-time whistle. 8/10
Luiz: There wasn’t much pressure on the Chelsea defence, but he had to endure a physical battle against Benteke in the second half, one which Benteke won all the aerial balls. 6/10
Cahill: Had one or two jittery moments in defence today, but other than that he had a decent game in defence. 6/10
Kante: Had 2 good shots saved by the keeper, and won a number of balls for the team in the midfield. Was energetic in the middle today. 7/10
Matic: Was full of energy in the middle, and worked hard for the team. 6/10
Moses: Almost let the team down with a dangerous throw-in that went for a corner. Had some good spells in the game. 6/10
Alonso: The Spaniard had a very good game today. He was a useful outlet on the left, tested the keeper with a good shot in the second-half and rattled the bar in the 83rd minute. 7/10
Willian: Had a decent game today, but wasn’t as effective as he’d have liked. Withdrawn for Fabregas in the 64th minute. 6/10
Hazard: Was fouled a number of times due to his threat on the ball, threatened a number of times, but not as much as he’d have liked. 7/10
Costa: Proved yet again why he’s the best striker in the league with a very good header that sealed the win for his team, at a time when things weren’t really working for Chelsea. Massive goal from Costa with Chelsea’s first shot on target. 8/10
Fabregas: Came on for Willian, and had a beautiful game. Came on at a time when Crystal Palace were dominating the game, and his passing abilities helped the team retain the ball better, and created a number of chances. 7/10
Ivanovic: Replaced Victor Moses late in the second-half and helped bring extra solidity at the right side of the defence.
Batshuayi: Came on for Costa with a minute left to injury time.
