Diego Costa’s booking against Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park ensured he’d miss the next game against Bournemouth, as it was his 5th booking of the season.
Costa has been in impressive form this season, and Antonio Conte revealed that he’s disappointed not having the 28-year-old for the next game, albeit he sees it as an opportunity to try something new.
Speaking after the game, Conte said: “I hoped Diego would arrive after the game against Stoke without a yellow card, but it didn’t happen. It’s a pity because he’s in a good moment of form. I think he didn’t deserve the yellow card, I must be honest.
“We will have eight days to find a different solution against Bournemouth. It’s an opportunity for me to see another idea, but yes, we are disappointed to lose him.”
