With Diego Costa suspended for the game against Bournemouth, Michy Batshuayi was expected to start for Chelsea against Bournemouth but Antonio Conte instead preferred to play Eden Hazard through the middle.

Antonio Conte revealed after Chelsea’s 3-0 victory against Bournemouth that Michy Batshuayi is still adapting to the Premier League and that was why he didn’t start the Belgian striker.

Conte said: “This is the first time we played without a real forward, we tried this in training and I think for us at the moment this situation is the best, but I don’t forget Michy because he is a young player with great talent.

“He is adapting to this league and it is football, in the future I trust in him.”
