Since October, Chelsea have shown champions stuff and have used both brain and brawn to achieve results thus far.
The Blues currently top the table and are on course to win the league, after last season’s shambolic showing, and stats just show we might be celebrating another league triumph in May.
Chelsea have earned 34 points in just 14 games this season, with an average of 2.43 points per season and on course for 92 points this season, which is by far better than last season’s champions, Leicester City, who ended up with 81 points and a point per game ratio of 2.13.
When you consider that the last 15 league titles have been won with an average of 87.3 points, then Chelsea’s momentum only sets the Blues on course for title triumph.
Arsene Wenger’s invincibles ended with 90 points, Jose Mourinho’s first two league titles ended with 95 and 91 points respectively, while Manchester United in the last three years of Cristiano Ronaldo ended with 89, 87 and 90 points.
If Chelsea can continue in this momentum, stats only suggest the league is ours for the taking, come May 2017.
