Chelsea’s 3 points story against Sunderland would be incomplete if the saves made by Thibaut Courtois weren’t included.

The Chelsea goalkeeper pulled a good save on Adnan Januzaj just after the restart, and made an even better save against Patrick van Aanholt in the dying minutes of the game to keep Chelsea’s lead intact.

Sunderland manager David Moyes admitted after the game that he thought the ball had gone in.

Speaking after the game, Moyes said: “Their goalkeeper made two great saves. The first one was a good save but the second one will get all the plaudits, because of the type of save it was.

“I thought the second one was in – and I thought the referee was about to blow for full-time as well, which would have been ideal because they wouldn’t have had any more time to come back after that!”

“But it was a really good save.” Said the Sunderland manager.
