Chelsea want Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, and Real Madrid want Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Reports of Real Madrid trying to sign Courtois during the summer have grown stronger, and according to AS, Chelsea will make a move for Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez in the summer and ‘could offer’ goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in exchange.
Inasmuch as James Rodriguez is a good player, I don’t believe a swap deal will be good business for the club.
While Courtois is a key player for Chelsea, Rodriguez (despite his status) is a fringe player for Real Madrid. In the end, replacing a world-class goalkeeper like Courtois might be a difficult one.
