Willian lost his mother about three months ago after a 2-year battle with cancer, and he has thanked everyone at the club for the support they showed him in such a difficult time.
Willian said: “I have to say thank you to all of my team-mates and the staff here for the support they gave to me in that moment,”
“They knew it was very difficult for me. I watched the game against Leicester, the celebrations of the guys were nice and it was good because we won too.” He said.
He also revealed that he’s ready to work hard for his place in the team.
“I am happy to hear the manager say I am important and to have the support of him and the staff. Of course we all want to play but we can’t because there’s only 11 players who can be on the pitch. Now I just have to continue to work hard every day and to show my quality again.”
