AFCON REPORT: ONE CHELSEA PLAYER INJURED, ONE OUT AND TWO THROUGH TO THE QUARTERFINALS

It’s a mixed feeling for the four Chelsea players who went to represent their countries in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

For Baba Rahman, his tournament is over, after he suffered an injury in Ghana’s opening game in Gabon. He has a cruciate ligament injury and will be off for a long time.

For Victorien Angban, the midfielder on loan at Granada in Spain, was an unused sub as Ivory Coast were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday night after losing 1-0 to Morocco.

Christian Atsu’s Ghana qualified for the next round of the tournament, and Bertrand Traore and Burkina Faso are also through to the next round, as they were paired with Tunisia in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
