Chelsea signed Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina during the summer, and after a short spell on the bench, Antonio Conte started the Spaniard in the reverse fixture against Hull City, as the Blues switched to a 3-4-3 system.
Alonso has started every league game for Chelsea since then, and he revealed how the journey has been for him.
He told Chelsea’s official email newsletter: “It’s not so different from how I was used to playing at Fiorentina, so it was easy to adapt when I first came here, but there are some different aspects that we have been working on with the manager.
“But I think it’s not too far from the football I played last year.”
