Arsenal legend Martin Keown thinks Tottenham are better suited to the 3-4-3 than Chelsea.
Chelsea have impressed since switching to the 3-4-3 and went on a run of 13 consecutive games before the defeat to Tottenham but Keown thinks Tottenham’s squad is better suited for the 3-4-3 than Chelsea’s squad.
“I’ve spoken at length about how impressive Tottenham’s wingbacks Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are,” Keown wrote in the Daily Mail.
“They’re the perfect players for Mauricio Pochettino’s system but the three centre halves also work particularly well.
“Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier are all physical, good on the ball and dominant in the air.
“I don’t feel Chelsea’s back three, however are quite suited to the formation – particularly Cesar Azpilicueta, who is primarily a full back and was beaten in the air twice by Dele Alli last night.”
One defeat in 13 games and suddenly Chelsea players are no longer suited to the 3-4-3 formation. Is Keown really serious?
