Chelsea lost to Tottenham on Wednesday night, a London derby that prevented Chelsea from meeting Arsenal’s record of 14 consecutive wins.
Azpilicueta believes Chelsea lost to Spurs because of the team’s inability to keep the ball, while also saying that Dele Alli’s second goal killed the team’s momentum.
Cesar said: “We knew it would be tough and it was, but we tried to play our game. Sometimes we were not able to do it and we lost some balls. We conceded the second goal when we were in our best moment in the game and had had two or three chances, and after that it was difficult. Tottenham are a strong team and they showed that and we know that.
“But we said before when we were winning, it is still a long way to go. We have to cope with a lot of difficult games and we have to work harder.”
