We’ve previously brought you reports linking Chelsea loanee Nathan Ake with a return to the club, and Chelsea have now decided to recall the young Dutchman from Bournemouth.
Chelsea have released a statement revealing that the 21-year-old has been recalled back to the club. Via its official website, the statement reads: “Nathan Ake has been recalled from his loan spell at Bournemouth.”
Ake made 12 appearances for the Cherries and scored three goals, including a last-minute winner (that we’d never forget) against Liverpool in December.
Just three months ago, Ake was struggling to get playing time in the Bournemouth team, but after being given a chance by Eddie Howe, he grabbed it with both hands with some massive displays.
With Chelsea needing depth in the team, Ake will be like a new signing for the Blues. The 21-year-old can play as a defensive midfielder, a centre-back and even a left wing-back. The fact that he’s a left footer makes the deal juicier.
Well done Conte and the scouting team who put this together.
