As transfer deadline day draws closer, Chelsea fans will be thinking “why haven’t we made any moves yet?” Well, it’s because we shouldn’t be desperate to. We have sold two notable players this window, and as much as it makes sense for us to replace them, I don’t think we need to… At least, not yet.

As things stand now, Chelsea have a very competitive and balanced squad— one of the best in the league. We have two powerful strikers, two top goalies, a solid defence, and a dependable midfield. Going into the transfer market to acquire now would be an ill-advised move if you asked me. The January transfer window isn’t really one where you find top players available, and when you do, they’re annoyingly expensive. So, I’d rather we wait until the summer window, when we can find players of our standard. We have made good money from the sale of Oscar and as well saved money from Mikel’s wages, so there’s enough money to lure top players to Stamford Bridge in the coming window, which will make more sense if we wait until then rather than waste it on deals we may end up regretting.

I understand the cry for fresh legs, especially since other teams are strengthening, but we don’t have to be desperate. We have what it takes to see out the season on top. The summer window will soon be here, and I’m sure we’ll acquire more fresh legs.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
