Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in strengthening the squad this January and one area he is reportedly seeking to strengthen is our left-wing back position.

According to a report by The Sun, Chelsea have moved ahead of rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Wolfburg’s left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer but the move didn’t materialize and Marcos Alonso arrived from Fiorentina. Conte reportedly wants to get Rodriguez during the January window.

According to the report, Chelsea have talked with the agent of Rodriguez about the possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are reportedly willing to submit a bid of £21million bid.

Arsenal have been linked with Rodriguez in recent weeks but might have to look elsewhere with Chelsea winning the race for the defender.
