As we count down to this weekend’s fixtures, Chelsea will host Hull City at Stamford Bridge, while second-placed Tottenham will be away at the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City.
Chelsea have the opportunity to extend the 7 points gap separating the Blues and Spurs, and former Blue Pat Nevin, is looking forward to this weekend’s fixtures.
He wrote in the official Chelsea website: “In the meantime, like every other Chelsea fan I have had a look forward to the weekend coming and it looks like Manchester City v Spurs could be the most interesting game, apart from our own of course!
Right now we probably want a Man City win or a draw because Spurs have not quite been shaken off yet in the title chase. On the other hand, even a City defeat would not be all that negative because with Man United currently 12 points behind us, if we beat Hull City that would leave City 13 points adrift as well. It means that a top-four finish at the very least would look extraordinarily likely.”
