Stamford Bridge is set for a £500 million revamp with Chelsea expected to be granted permission on Monday.
Chelsea will need a temporary home while a new Stamford Bridge is built and according to Daily Mail, Wembley is Chelsea’s first choice with Tottenham set to vacate Wembley in 2018.
Construction work on Chelsea’s new stadium will commence in the summer of 2018 and Chelsea are already in talks over moving into Wembley immediately after Tottenham vacate Wembley in 2018.
If completion of Tottenham’s new stadium experiences delay, Tottenham might be forced to stay at Wembley for an extended period. This would mean Chelsea might have to share Wembley with Tottenham for the 2018/19 season.
The new Stamford Bridge will be ready for the start of the 2021-22 Premier League season.
