Chelsea youngster Alex Kiwomya spent the first half of the season on loan at League One outfit Crewe Alexandra.
After impressing in the first half of the season with seven goals and four assists, Kiwomya will now spend the rest of the season at Crewe Alexandra.
This is a statement from Crewe Alexandra confirming the loan extension: “Crewe Alexandra have successfully extended the loan of Chelsea winger Alex Kiwomya until the end of the season.
“The 20-year-old’s original loan spell was due to expire today (Mon 9 Jan) but Chelsea have agreed to let Alex remain at Gresty Road for the remainder of the season.
“Kiwomya has made 25 appearances for the club so far this season, scoring seven goals including Goal of the Season contenders at Stevenage & Newport.
“After a blistering opening to the season, the winger’s form has suffered slightly since missing a month following a shoulder injury at Grimsby in September.
“Now contracted to the club until the end of 2016/17, Kiwomya would be eligible for the Play-Offs, should Crewe get there.”
