Liverpool have lost their last three home games and ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool on Tuesday night, boss Antonio Conte believes Chelsea can inflict a mentally hard hit on Liverpool.
“For sure, it would be a hard hit, mentally, for them [if they lose]. But there are 15 games after this and 45 points available before the season finishes,” Conte said.
“It will be a very tough game. We know this, above all because they have just had three defeats.
“We must pay great attention because Liverpool are a really good team and are in the six teams who can fight until the end to win the title or find a place in the Champions League.
“For this reason I think the result is important but the result doesn’t decide the season of Chelsea or Liverpool.
“It’s very difficult to explain this [their loss of form]. I watched very well the games they’ve lost and in these games, they were unlucky.
“It’s a really good test, a really tough test against a tough team. But for me, Liverpool are a really good team, with a good coach and good players.
“They have good experience to fight for the best, for the title and [today] I’m sure it’ll be a really tough game.”
