Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois believes the rest of the league was hoping Chelsea would drop points against Leicester City on Saturday but he insists Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Leicester City proves Chelsea have the quality to replace Diego Costa.
“Of course we have enough quality to replace Diego,” Courtois said. “Diego is important for us but if he’s not there for one game, we know we can handle it as well.
“Was that a message? Yes, just to see that Chelsea won 3-0 and we didn’t stop and that loss didn’t affect us and also that we can play without Diego if need be.
“Everybody hoped for us to drop points and we didn’t so that was very good.”
