Back in October, former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson ruled Chelsea out of the title race. Chelsea’s form had just begun at the time, but the former United manager was quick to rule Chelsea out of the race.
Chelsea have only dropped points once since Ferguson made that statement, and the Blues are currently 8 points clear at the top of the table.
Alex Ferguson has now come up with loads of excuses as to why United are not in the title race. He thinks Jose Mourinho is doing a good job and has blamed luck that his team isn’t competing with Chelsea.
“‘I think he [Mourinho] has done a great job,” the former United manager told BBC Sport.
“You can see he has got to grips with the club.
“The team is playing really well and he has been very unlucky. He has had six 1-1 draws and in every game he has battered the opposition.
“If they hadn’t had all these draws, they would be there challenging Chelsea. That is the unfortunate part but he is going to have to live with that.”
Double standard Fergie! Conte was winning and you said he wouldn’t win the league, Mourinho was drawing games and you still have excuses for him.
Well, Conte and his players have put doubters and critics to shame. 8 points clear at the top. Indeed the sky is Blue.
