Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was a key player for Liverpool when Chelsea’s rivalry with Liverpool was at its peak during Jose Mourinho’s first era at Chelsea and Rafael Benitez time as Liverpool boss.
Carragher revealed he couldn’t stand Chelsea as a club during the peak of the rivalry between both clubs.
“I’ll be honest. I couldn’t stand you (Chelsea) as a club,” Carragher said during an interview with Chelsea great Frank Lampard.
“It surpassed Everton and Manchester United as rivalry for a period.
“Chelsea nearly signing Stevie (Gerrard) was massive for the rivalry. So were the fans, Jose (Mourinho) coming in and the League Cup final in Cardiff in February 2005.”
