Just few days after exiting the African Cup of Nations, Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is back at the club and is desperate to play against Chelsea.

Mane was expected to travel back from the Africa Cup of Nations by private jet on Sunday but delays meant that the forward did not arrive until Monday evening.

The Times claim that the Liverpool manager has been informed by the Senegal international about his desire to play, Metro report.

According to Metro, The Times also reveal that throughout the Africa Cup of Nations, Mane was accompanied by former Liverpool physio, Dave Galley, in order to ensure that the 24-year-old received the best treatment during the tournament.

Liverpool have struggled without Mane, and the Senegal international is now desperate for a return to action.
