Chelsea are away to Tottenham, in what will be a very difficult game. Arsenal legend Martin keown, who now works as a pundit, has revealed his thoughts about the game.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Keown revealed that he expects a tough game: “There have been a few big games this season that haven’t really lived up to the hype, but I expect this one to ignite.
Spurs will still be hurting from the way Chelsea’s stars finally turned up and ended their title hopes in May, and the drama of that match will have them really fired up on Wednesday.
The atmosphere at the Lane will be electric, and I know all about what it feels like to be playing for a local rival there — Chelsea will be stepping into the lions’ den.”
He then revealed that the game will be decided by the wing-backs. He said: “The tactical side of this game is also intriguing, particularly the two teams’ backlines. Both have succeeded with three at the back this season — with Mauricio Pochettino experimenting with the system of late — and the key to this has been excellent wing-back play.
“You could argue that, in Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, Spurs have the best players in the league in these positions.
“Chelsea’s Victor Moses — a revelation this season — also fits this description, while Marcos Alonso is bigger and less attacking, but understands the role very well indeed.“
