Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, played his first game for Tianjin TEDA, in a friendly game against Borussia Dortmund’s U23 side, and the Chinese club were on the losing side.

Mikel wore the number 10 jersey, but was unable to rescue Jaime Pacheco’s men from bowing to the German youth side in the friendly encounter.

Zhou Tong got TEDA’s lone strike as Mikel was replaced in the second half alongside debutant, Wang Dong and Zhou Liao and Goodley.

Tianjin TEDA will continue their preparation for the new season, having finished 11th last season.
