John Mikel Obi has become the latest star to move to the Chinese Super League following the confirmation of his transfer to Tianjin TEDA on social media.
A picture of the now ex-Chelsea player shaking hands with a Tianjin club official and holding the club’s shirt was shared on Chinese website Webo.
He is understood to have signed a three-year deal with Tianjin and will reportedly earn around £140,000 a week.
Mikel joined Chelsea from Lyn Oslo in July 2006. He made 372 appearances for Chelsea and scored 6 goals.
Mikel’s honours with Chelsea include a Champions League, Europa League, 2 Premier Leagues, 4 FA Cups and 2 League Cups.
Mikel was a great servant of Chelsea Football Club and we wish him well as he joins Tianjin.
