Chelsea U18 started the defence of the FA Youth Cup in perfect fashion, as the youngsters cruised to a 5-0 win against Birmingham in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.

A hatrick from Mason Mount alongside goals from Cole Dasilva and Reece James gave Chelsea the lead, and Jody Morris was very excited after the game.

“I’m pleased,” he told the official Chelsea website. “There were some really good individual performances throughout the team but collectively we dominated the game from start to finish. It was similar to our league game last weekend [a 0-0 home draw versus Aston Villa], only we ended up taking some of our chances.

“That was probably the only side of this game I was a little disappointed with because we could have got double figures if we had taken our chances properly, although you can’t really moan too much after a 5-0 win!”
