The football world was stunned with Oscar’s £60 million transfer from Chelsea to Chinese club, Shanghai SIPG.
However, former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, who’s the current manager of Shanghai SIPG, has revealed that the Chinese Super League should be happy to have a player in the mould of Oscar, who still has many years ahead to play.
He said: “The Chinese market normally attracts star players from the age of 27 or 28. Chinese football should be grateful that we’ve been able to attract him to Shanghai.
“It’s a difficult move for him because there’s a lot of pressure when such a young player comes from a big club like Chelsea directly to China.”
“The fact that Oscar has signed for Shanghai means a lot for Chinese football,” Villas-Boas added in an interview with DSP magazine.
