During the summer, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was linked with a move to Real Madrid but the Belgian goalkeeper remained at Chelsea.
The rumours erupted again during the first-half of the season after Courtois revealed in an interview about his admiration for Madrid and his wish to return to Madrid one day.
According to a report by The Sun, Real Madrid are planning a summer move for Thibaut Courtois instead of Manchester United’s David De Gea after realising a deal for David De Gea would be to difficult to complete.
The report also claims Courtois’ partner and daughter still live in Madrid and the goalkeeper would be interested in a move to Madrid so he could join his family permanently.
The Sun claims Courtois has enquired about enrolling his daughter in a school in Madrid next year and this could mean Courtois sees his long-term future away from Stamford Bridge.
Courtois is an important player for Chelsea and I see no reason why Chelsea would let the 24-year-old leave for Real Madrid.
