Since missing the game against Leicester City on Saturday, many tabloids reported that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and star striker Diego Costa were to have a clear-the-air talk, but no such meeting was held.

According to a report by the Telegraph, any peace meeting or apology would need to be instigated by Costa, and not Antonio Conte.

Also, Conte and the rest of the Chelsea squad were observing breaks, and Conte wasn’t ready to leave his base with his family to hold any sort of talks.

Conte intends to assess Costa’s fitness, performance and state of mind in training this week before deciding whether or not he will play against Hull City on Sunday.
