John Terry was shown a red card in the FA Cup clash against Peterborough, and Antonio Conte has revealed that the referee’s decision was wrong, and has vowed to appeal the decision.

Terry was adjudged to be the last man when he fouled Lee Angol and was shown a straight red card by referee Kevin Friend, but Conte feels there was enough cover.

“You have to respect the referee decision, but in this case maybe we will do an appeal for this situation,” Conte said.

“The situation is very clear and I think John didn’t deserve this.”

Conte believes that Ivanovic was close enough to be a cover.

“He didn’t take the opponent and also the second reason was because behind John there was Ivanovic to cover John,” Conte added.

“It’s a pity when this happens, because the red card is not good.”
