Diego Costa currently has two more years left on his contract with Chelsea, and the club are willing to renew his contract. With China offering mega money for the striker, it’s yet to be seen if Costa will extend his Chelsea contract.
Conte was asked about Costa’s contract wrangle with the club, and the Italian responded: “It’s important Diego played a good game, and I hope with this game to finish the speculation about him, about me and him, about Chelsea.
“I think we showed that we are a team with a great unity, and I think this is the real value that helps us stay top of the table.
“Diego has two years of contract, before his contract expires with Chelsea. For us, now, it’s very important for us to concentrate on the present and not try and see too far into the future. That will risk not seeing the present.
“Would it be a statement that he is here for the long-term if he signs a new contract? Yeah, why not? Why not?
“This decision is something you have to take together with the club. But, I repeat, I don’t see any problem with Diego and his contract.”
