Chelsea legend Frank Lampard announced his retirement from the game on Thursday, after a career that cut across 21 years.
The 38-year-old, who is the fourth top goalscorer in Premier League history, and Chelsea’s all-time record goalscorer, received praises from Arsenal star Jack Wilshere, who’s currently on loan to Bournemouth.
Wilshere admitted that he has always looked up to the Chelsea legend and want to be like him.
“The best goal scoring midfielder to have ever played in the Premier League,” Wilshere wrote on Instagram.
“As a kid growing up was a player I wanted to be like, and I was lucky to have played with and against him!
“All the best for the future.”
