Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp was so impressed with Cesc Fabregas’ performance against Swansea, that he has labelled the Spaniard as one of the best midfielders to have played in the league.
“I am so impressed with Cesc Fabregas’s attitude,” Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“He has been restricted to 20-minute cameos by Antonio Conte this season but has made a big impact when called upon on so many occasions.
“When you are up against a stubborn side like Swansea, you need to keep the ball and be patient. Fabregas is the man to do that.
“He has never been blessed with pace but there are very few players who have his eye for a pass.
“I love how he arrives late in the box, too – on Saturday at Stamford Bridge it was like watching Frank Lampard in his pomp.
“Fabregas does not always get the credit he deserves but in terms of technical ability, he should be regarded as one of the Premier League’s greatest midfielders.”
