Ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Burnley on Sunday, ex-Chelsea boss Ray Wilkins insists Chelsea are the fittest team in the Premier League this season. Wilkins expects Burnley to get into faces of the Blues on Sunday but he believes Chelsea’s fitness and work ethic would prove too much for the Clarets.
“Sean Dyche will be saying exactly what he said when they played the rest – get stuck into these guys, get in their faces,” Wilkins told Sky Sports.
“But these fellas are so fit. The one thing I’ve noticed about Chelsea in watching them all season is the fitness levels they’re playing at. They are the fittest team in the Premier League.
“I watched Man City yesterday, they annihilated Swansea in the first half, they couldn’t keep up that level of fitness for the whole game. Chelsea can.
“Chelsea when they loses possession, they use all their work ethic to get back in. It’s incredible. And they’re working so hard for each other.”
