Chelsea U18 were in rampage mode as they inflicted a heavy defeat on Brighton’s U18 side, a defeat that they’d never forget for the rest of their lives.
The win extended Chelsea’s youth team unbeaten run to 21 games, and it was against a Brighton side that haven’t lost a single game since November.
Speaking about the victory, U18 coach Jody Morris was very excited with the team’s performance. He told the official Chelsea website: “We’re talking about a Brighton team that haven’t lost since we beat them away in November. They’ve beaten Tottenham and Arsenal recently and drawn with West Ham so they’re a good side.
“I’m really pleased not just for the scoreline but for the individuals who came in from not playing in the Youth Cup earlier in the week. Their attitude was first-class, as well as the technical and tactical side which was excellent.
“The most pleasing thing for me was our work-rate and intensity to try to win the ball back, it was the same at 10-0 as it was at 0-0.”
