Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has rarely played for Chelsea this season since his £33 million move from Marseille in the summer while Chelsea academy graduate Tammy Abraham has scored 21 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for Championship club Bristol City.
Ex-Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins belives Tammy Abraham is a better player than Michy Batshuayi and he also urged Chelsea to stick with Abraham.
“I look at Chelsea, my club, they spent £33m on Michy Batshuayi at 22 years of age and I look at Tammy Abraham, who is playing for Bristol City. They are third from bottom in the Championship and he has scored 20 goals this season,” Wilkins told talkSPORT.
“You are not going to tell me Batshuayi would have scored 20 goals in the Championship. Chelsea would have been better off sticking Abraham on the bench and playing him ahead of Batshuayi.”
