Chelsea are flying high in the league, and are nine points clear at the top of the table.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Chelsea manager Antonio Conte should be given much praise for the way he has turned a Chelsea team that struggled last season into a side that has dominated the league, in just his first season at the club.

“There has to be huge praise for the Chelsea manager,” Cascarino wrote in The Times.

“He has dealt with a lot since the start of the season. You can applaud the brilliance of some of the individuals at times, but he has got the whole team, in every area, in every position to run their socks off. And they do.

“Antonio Conte wants full commitment from his players or they don’t make it into his side. He gets huge respect. It’s all well and good having big-name stars but it’s about getting them to work together. Everyone is giving their sweat and blood.”
