Ex-Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wants Diego Costa to remain at Chelsea next season because Costa still has a lot to offer in the Premier League.
28-year-old Costa has scored 16 goals for Chelsea this season and despite a huge bid from China during the January transfer window, Costa still remained at Chelsea.
“I hope so but it’s up to Diego,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports when asked if Costa will stay at Stamford Bridge.
“I think he’s still got a lot to give in the Premier League.
“He can’t do anything against those others when you are playing out of your skin and you are delivering week in week out.
“You are going to get other clubs wanting to buy you – that’s just the nature of the game.
“But I do feel to progress for Chelsea they need to be bringing in a few other strikers.
“They’re going to be playing more matches, something might happen with Costa. The team needs to keep on producing.”
