When Hazard was taken off for Pedro against Liverpool on Tuesday night, some of us saw the move as a deliberate one by Conte to keep him fresh for the game against Arsenal this weekend, but on a deeper look, one may find that it isn’t unrelated to the Belgian’s poor run over the past couple of weeks.

Hazard started the season on fire, scoring almost game in, game out, but lately, it appears he has hit a rocky patch. He has not scored a league goal in weeks, and was relatively quiet against Liverpool, but then again, for players like Hazard, a loss of form isn’t the same as with other players. Hazard hasn’t scored in weeks, but he has continued to assist and create goals. He has been influencing matches in our favour, and has helped us win games.

Talks of his loss of form have only arisen because he hasn’t scored as often as before. However, it’s also important to note that he’s not a striker, besides loss of form is a part of the game, as it’s difficult to shine week in, week out. The important thing is to keep going, and work hard. Hazard has done these, and as a huge fan of the Belgian, I hope he finds the back of the net again soon, starting this weekend against the Gunners.

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
