LIVERPOOL 1-1 CHELSEA: FIVE THINGS WE LEARNED

Chelsea put in a wonderful performance at Anfield last night and we were unlucky not to win the game.

Below are five things we learned after the game

1. LIVERPOOL COULDN’T WIN CHELSEA DESPITE RUSHING SADIO MANE BACK

Liverpool rushing Sadio Mane back from the African Cup of Nations dominated the headlines prior to Chelsea’s game against Liverpool. Well, Mane made the team and Liverpool still couldn’t find a win. In fact, Mane was well marshalled by our defence when he came in and I really can’t remember any threat he caused our defence.

2. CHELSEA MOVED NINE POINTS CLEAR AT THE TOP DESPITE DRAW WITH LIVERPOOL

It was Chelsea vs The World as the rest of our title rivals wanted a Liverpool win. Instead of having our lead at the top reduced, we increased our lead after Arsenal lost and Tottenham drew to struggling Sunderland.

3. DAVID LUIZ ANSWERS HIS CRITICS YET AGAIN

Every pundit laughed off Chelsea’s decision to bring back David Luiz to Chelsea as they all felt Luiz wasn’t good enough for Chelsea. Luiz has been superb for Chelsea this season and his brilliant free kick against Liverpool was a beauty to behold.

4. FABREGAS OH FABREGAS

I will be sad if we lose a talent like Cesc Fabregas in the summer. He is just so brilliant with the ball. He didn’t start the game against Liverpool but what a player to have on the bench. He controlled the game brilliantly when he came on with his desire to always want the ball and his good use of the ball. His brilliant pass that led to Pedro’s chance had me screaming Fabregas oh Fabregas.

5. CHELSEA ARE FAVOURITES TO WIN THE TITLE

The rest of the league should forget about the title this season as I can’t see Chelsea losing the title to our rivals. Our display against Liverpool was brilliant. We soaked the early pressure from Liverpool in the first 10 minutes and matched Liverpool afterwards. We were unlucky to only get a draw against Liverpool after Diego Costa missed from the penalty spot.
