In Germany, Andreas Christensen helped Borussia Monchengladbach beat Werder Bremen 1-0, but Michael Hector’s Eintracht Frankfurt suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.
In the Serie A, Mario Pasalic was also on the score sheet against Bologna away from home, in dramatic fashion for AC Milan midweek, as he converted Gerard Deulofeu’s low cross with less than a minute left on the clock after seeing his team reduced to nine men by red cards.
In England’s third tier division, Jordan Houghton and Doncaster Rovers secured a point with a 0-0 draw away to Newport, and Charlie Colkett and Fankaty Dabo both played the full 90 minutes of Swindon’s League One loss to Bury.
