In the Premier League, Loic Remy came off the bench for the final half an hour of Crystal Palace’s 4-0 defeat against Sunderland, although all four goals have already been scored.

Izzy Brown’s loan move from relegation scrapping Rotherham to Championship fighting Huddersfield, has really pushed his career forward.

On Thursday, Brown produced a man-of-the-match display, as the Terriers reinforced their promotion credentials with an impressive 3-1 win over Brighton, who were league leaders at the time. He was replaced for the final 20 minutes by Kasey Palmer, who went close to adding to the scoreline with a powerful attempt.

Palmer then started Sunday’s West Yorkshire derby at home to Leeds United, but was forced off after 25 minutes with a hamstring strain. His replacement Brown, scored with his first touch after coming in. Leeds equalised before half-time, but Huddersfield grabbed a late winner to move above their local rivals into fourth place.

Tammy Abraham netted his 19th goal of the campaign in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, a result which brought to an end the Robins’ eight-match losing streak in the league. He was also in action on Saturday, as Bristol City beat Rotherham 1-0 to leave them six points above the relegation zone.

Lucas Piazon and Thomas Kalas started Fulham’s 2-0 win at Burton Albion last Wednesday followed by Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Gianfranco Zola’s Birmingham City.

On Sunday, Swindon Town hosted their local rivals Oxford United, in the League One. Fankaty Dabo opening the scoring for the Robins with his first-ever professional goal, and Charlie Colkett started the game which they eventually lost 2-1.

In League Two, Jamal Blackman kept a clean sheet for Wycombe in a 1-0 home win over Portsmouth. While Alex Kiwomya started in a 4-0 defeat for Crewe at Exeter.

In the Bundesliga, Andreas Christensen was super in defence as Borussia Monchengladbach beat Freiburg 3-0.

In the Dutch Eredivisie, Vitesse Arnhem were in action on Friday night, beating Den Haag 2-0. Lewis Baker and Nathan started the match, with Matt Miazga coming on for the latter in the second half.

Marco van Ginkel played in PSV Eindhoven’s 4-2 win at Alkmaar, providing an assist for the fourth goal.

In Serie A, Mario Pasalic played in AC Milan’s 1-0 loss to Sampdoria.

In Belgium, Matej Delac was in goal for Mouscron’s 1-0 defeat at Genk.
