Manchester United are set to visit Stamford Bridge for the quarter final of the FA Cup. The last time Jose Mourinho’s men visited Stamford Bridge, they were drubbed 4-0 by a rampant Chelsea team.
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata wants to ‘forget the bad taste’ of Manchester United’s 4-0 drubbing by Chelsea the last time they visited Stamford Bridge. Mata revealed Manchester United will be motivated to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
“We were just leaving Ewood Park when we knew through the social networks our rival in the last eight: Chelsea at Stamford Bridge,” Mata wrote on his blog.
“Needless to say, it’s going to be another special game for me. This is without a doubt one of the most complicated ties we could have, but we will go there with the big motivation of earning a ticket to Wembley and forget the bad taste of our last visit to Stamford Bridge.”
United have not beaten Chelsea in their last 11 attempts, with their most recent win in October 2012 and the last time Manchester United defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was in 2011.
The Blues are definitely favourites to win Manchester United and qualify for the semifinals.
