Having moved to Chinese club Tianjin TEDA from Chelsea this January, former Blues midfielder John Mikel Obi is enjoying a new lease of life in faraway China, as his team prepares for the new season.

The 29-year-old appears to have settled in with his Tianjin TEDA teammates having penned a three-year, £140,000-per-week deal.

Mikel is Tianjin’s star signing, and he believes that the level of coaching in China is also high.

“I do not think there’s a lot of difference in the level of coaches now,” Mikel told NetEase Sports .

“I think Pacheco is a high-level coach and he was a very good player [for Porto and Portugal].

“Training is done very well, with a very high level.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
