The other day, I carried a report from Chelsea great Pat Nevin, urging Antonio Conte to make the harsh decision and play his main squad against Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. Many Chelsea fans reacted to the post by urging Conte to play his main squad as well, claiming Jose Mourinho will field a very strong side against Chelsea.
True to the words of Chelsea fans, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, has revealed that he’d play his strongest side against Chelsea.
Last season, Manuel Pellegrini famously fielded five teenage full debutants in February 2016 against Chelsea, and City went on to lose 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho has insisted that what happened last season between Chelsea and Manchester City wouldn’t happen under his charge. United are still in four competitions, but Mourinho doesn’t care.
“I cannot go to Chelsea with the second team or Under-21s like Manchester City did last year.”
“I cannot do that, we are Manchester United,” Mourinho said.
