The London derby was exciting as expected, and Chelsea did well to show their superiority over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. This was Chelsea’s 19th win in the league, and it took Chelsea 12 points ahead of Arsenal.

See how the players fared:

Courtois: Unlucky to have conceded a goal. Prior to that, he made two world-class saves to keep Chelsea’s lead intact. 8/10

Azpilicueta: Very solid display from the Spaniard. Full of energy and did a lot to keep Arsenal’s front three quiet. 7.5/10

Luiz: Very good display in front of the defence, and kept Arsenal’s attackers quiet. 7.5/10

Cahill: Led the defence well, and was part of a good Chelsea defence that kept Arsenal’s attack at bay for large spells of the game. 7.5/10

Kante: Yet another wonderful game from the 25-year-old. He broke a lot of Arsenal’s attack, stole many balls, covered lots of grounds and put in another excellent shift in front of the defence. 8.5/10

Matic: Was energetic in midfield, and helped protect his backline. Helped keep the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez quiet. 7/10

Moses: Very direct and energetic display from the Nigerian international. He ran at Arsenal’s defence all game, and was a constant threat with his direct play. 7.5/10

Alonso: Started the Chelsea assault with a beautifully headed goal, and was wonderful on the left flank all through the game. 8/10

Pedro: Didn’t get on the scoresheet today, but his contribution was immense. Was involved in a lot of counterattacking situations, and worked hard for the team. 7.5/10

Hazard: A man of the match display from the Belgian. His turns and twists, his dribbles and his movements stunned the fans at Stamford Bridge. He capped his wonderful performance with a wonderful goal that will indeed be a contender for the goal of the season. 9/10

Costa: His header led to the first goal scored by Alonso. Was involved in the buildup to many Chelsea attacks, but couldn’t get on the scoresheet today. Wouldn’t be too proud of his game today. 6.5/10

Willian: Replaced Pedro, with about seven minutes left of play. Looked lively a number of times.

Fabregas: Replaced Hazard late in the game, and made his impact felt two minutes later with an audacious chip over Petr Cech, to punish him for a poor clearance. 7.5/10

Zouma: Came on for Moses with just 3 minutes left of normal time, and he’d be impressed with his wonderful footwork.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
