Nathan Ake started for Chelsea in the FA Cup for the second time this season since he was recalled from loan, and the Dutchman gave a good account of himself against Wolves.

The Dutchman celebrated his 22nd birthday just the same day Chelsea got a win against Wolves, and he was pleased to be in action.

“I’m really happy to get another start, playing with great players,” he said after the game. “I can only learn from that and hopefully I can push on and get better every time.

It was a difficult game against Wolves, and it took two second-half goals to overcome our Championship opponents and Ake admitted the Black Country side provided stiff opposition, particularly in the opening period.

“We’re really pleased with the win, a bit less so with the performance, but we knew it was going to be a difficult place to come,” he said. “The first 30 minutes, for sure, they were on top. They pressed us high, we couldn’t play out and it was really difficult. The crowd was behind them, so we just needed to get through that.

“I think in the second half we came out much better, we kept the ball and created more chances and I don’t think they created anything.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
