Chelsea didn’t make a single signing this January, but Antonio Conte is already looking forward to the summer.
According to Daily Express, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has told scouts to keep an eye on Marseille’s Maxime Lopez.
The 19-year-old has scored one goal and provided five assists in 16 games for Marseille this season, and is reportedly in the books of Conte.
Chelsea could land Lopez on a free if Conte receives good feedback from his scouts. His future remains uncertain at the Stade Velodrome as he is out of contract at the end of the season and so far hasn’t extended his contract.
Chelsea scouts were present at Marseille’s 3-1 defeat to Lyon last month to cast an eye on the young prospect. However, if Chelsea were to sign him during the summer, Chelsea would still have to pay a compensation fee as he is under 23.
