Previous transfer rumours have linked former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho with two Chelsea players – Nemanja Matic and Willian.
Recently, Willian admitted that Mourinho actually wanted him at Old Trafford.
Recent reports now have it that the Portuguese is interested in our Spanish midfield maestro, Cesc Fabregas.
The Telegraph and some other tabloids report that Mourinho remains a huge admirer of the Spaniard and could try to lure him to Old Trafford, but United will face strong competition from AC Milan.
Fabregas has started only six Premier League games this season under Antonio Conte, and Mourinho could use that in luring the 29-year-old away.
The report claims AC Milan will try to sign Fabregas during the summer with a bid of £27 million.
However, Fabregas’ recent statements suggest that he’s committed to the Chelsea cause.
When asked if he sees himself staying at Chelsea after the victory over Swansea City on Saturday, the 29-year-old said: “100 per cent.
“I am not thinking about anything else than challenging myself here. The situation from six months ago to now has changed massively.
“From the beginning it has been a big challenge and there are always rumours, you cannot stop that, but I don’t even care what people say. Not for one second did I want to leave.”
Despite his reduced role under Conte, Fabregas has an impressive return of three goals and seven assists in just 639 minutes of league football.
