Life as we know doesn’t give what you deserve, but what you demand by making conscious efforts towards your desired expectation. After Chelsea’s game against Burnley, the outcome was below expectations as early game predictions billed us for a win. By that we would have extended our lead at the top to 12 points, but it never happened. That’s certainly an issue we must address if we are to emerge Champions by May.

The match against Burnley was the third time this year we have failed to take advantage of opportunities to extend our lead at the top. First was against Spurs at White Hart Lane. After Liverpool’s draw against Sunderland, we were primed to extend our lead to 9 points. Sadly, we were brought crashing down to earth with our backs on the ground in a painful defeat against Spurs who were revenge-thirsty after we killed their title hopes in the battle at the bridge.

Up next was our visit to one of English football most daunting and ferocious stadiums – Anfield. It was a better time to play the red half Merseyside especially as they were experiencing a dip in form and without a win as at then in the new calendar year. It ended in a stalemate after Diego Costa’s penalty miss cost us two points. In observation, we surrendered our lead just like we did against Burnley by allowing Liverpool head in an equaliser and gain foothold on the game.

Major issues that seem threatening to our title prospect are gradually surfacing. Conceding headed goals is an Achilles heel and now a trend that needs to be bucked. More worryingly is Diego Costa’s form with no goals scored in four games – which is about 329 minutes of football.

Certainly there’s always a way out and Chelsea and Conte must act fast if they don’t want to get caught up. It’s time to get the job done and cross over the finish line and be deserved winners and champions. it’s now or never! Let’s roar life into our performances. Cheers!
